In cases where car keys are heavily worn due to age or heavy use, we can carry out a full car key or van refurbishment in most PO Postcodes, as a mobile service. This often involves a new, replacement case, a newly cut key – using your original circuit board or transponder.
Where circuit boards have failed but the transponder is still functional, it is usually possibly to provide a new remote circuit board using the original transponder, which will start the vehicle. In this case the new remote will require programming to the vehicle.

Most snapped, broken or defective car keys and van keys can be repaired.
If your original car-key electronics are functioning correctly, we can usually repair your car key, within Portsmouth and PO Postcodes. Most snapped keys can be placed into a key copier machine and the key-code can be replicated onto a new key blade and replaced into the key fob. In cases where this is not possible due to extensive damage and a spare key is not available to copy, we can pick one of your locks, either a door lock or the ignition barrel in order to attain the ‘key-code’.
Once the key-code has been identified, we can cut a new key. With some manufacturers or models, you may have a key-card with the vehicle key-code printed on it, or we may be able to order the key-code from the manufacturer. Typically, I.D. and proof of ownership of the vehicle is required before manufacturers release the key-code.
Cutting keys for worn locks and ignition barrels on older or heavily used vehicles
With older vehicles it is usually a more sensible option to copy an original key blade profile, because locks and keys tend to wear together at an even rate and become a modified version of the original key profile. In these cases a copied key is much more likely to successfully operate in worn locks and ignition barrels whereas a new key, cut to the original ‘new’ profile may not work in your worn lock or ignition barrel.

Broken buttons on remotes are one of the most common breakages to occur with car keys. They generally fall into 2 categories, case breakage and circuit board breakages. Plastic cases tend to fail due to fatigue – typically over the circuit board buttons which operate the remote. Internally, buttons can also detach or fail on the circuit board after extensive use or abuse. These breakages can often be repaired.
