Replacement Toyota Aygo car keys can be provided for customers whom have lost their car keys

Visiting Eastney, PO4 Portsmouth, a replacement Toyota Aygo key was provided for an all-keys-lost situation. The customer’s car was on the tail end of the mark 1 range of Toyota Aygos, and had an original style all-in-one, non-flip key and remote. The customer had lost his Toyota car key.

Master Auto Locksmith arrived at the customer’s house and initiated work by picking open the door lock of the car. Once picked, the door lock was decoded, which means learning the key and lock profile to determine the ‘key code number’ of the Toyota Aygo.

New Car Key in Eastney to Replace Lost Keys

The acquired key code number was programmed into a key cutting machine and a new key was cut to the vehicle’s key code.

The newly cut key blade worked perfectly first time, and was secured into a fixed key head on a programmable remote, which was cheaper than an OEM original manufacturer key. These keys have programmable logic to match the remote buttons to many manufacturers and models, and a space for a separate transponder to disarm the immobiliser.

Setting Toyota Aygo Remote Logic to Operate Central Locking

Next, the correct logic was written to the programmable remote circuit board to match the central locking system of the car. The applied remote logic matched the mark 1 Toyota Aygo central locking system, which is a separate system from the transponder which disengages the immobiliser to start the vehicle. A battery was placed into the circuit board, which was installed into the remote key, so that buttons on the remote switches operated the remote. The frequency output of each button was tested and was good.

Toyota Aygo Key Transponder Programming in PO4

The next stage was to program the transponder for the new key into the vehicle, to disarm the immobiliser when the key is in the ignition. This requires removal of the immobiliser module, which is a small box behind the dashboard. The EEPROM data was read from the immobiliser chip on the circuit board. This is done by communicating directly with the Toyota Aygo immobiliser chip using specialist equipment and software. The transponder was successfully matched with the Toyota Aygo, and placed into the head – or holder of the key, near to the key blade.

The key was tested in the ignition of the Toyota and the car fired up.

Toyota Aygo Remote Programming

Finally, the remote was programmed to the Toyota Aygo so that the remote key buttons locked and unlocked the car. This is a separate manual procedure. This was completed succesfully and the customer was back up and running with replacement keys for his Toyota Aygo.
